Rules & Stategies
In games of this era there is little in the way of rules and strategy. Playing Five Star Final is all about the plunger shot. The ball rolls one lap around the playfield, half of a figure-eight and then drops down thru the pins and scoring holes. Skillful plunger shots land the seven balls in the scoring holes of highest value. At the end of the game it is up to the player to mentally add up his score. With the insertion of another penny, the coin slide is pushed in which mechanically causes the balls to drop through the playfield and roll back down to the ball lift. The ball lift is manually operated by a lever located beneath the plunger knob. As the name implies, the ball lift lifts one ball at a time from under the playfield and places the ball in front of the plunger for another shot.
